This formula that I use is in no way promoted by me but simply just something I do to clean hard water off of my windows. You will want to make sure you have enough experience or hire someone who does before using these chemicals.

Here are the steps I use to clean hard water off of windows.

  1. Remove screens and any debris from the window with a hose beforehand.
  2. Mix muratic acid which is used in pools with about 1/4 acid 3/4 water in a bucket.
  3. Get a brush that can attach to the end of a pole and dip the brush in the acid water.
  4. Brush the window until you feel it pass back and forth without the scraping noise. This will tell you that the hard water is gone.
  5. Finally you simply rinse the window really well. You will want to make sure you rinse it long enough so that the acid gets diluted enough.
  6. Replace the screen and you are done.
